The Impact you Will Have:

The Technical Product Owner plays a central role in bringing the Crucial Learning Platform to market: the one place where Crucial Learning's courses, assessments, virtual classroom, and administrative tools come together into a single, seamless experience. Working closely with the Sr. Director of the Crucial Learning Platform, this person drives day-to-day product execution, helps guide features and enhancements through to release, and contributes to the roadmap and priorities of the Crucial Learning Platform, all while translating internal and external customer needs into real outcomes. They bring an impeccable track record for efficient decision making, writing clear user stories and workflows, refining and prioritizing the backlog, and running sprints grounded in validated business data. They are highly collaborative, skilled at building trusted relationships across technical and business teams, and thrive in a fully remote environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive the development of prioritized enhancements and new features end-to-end from initial hypotheses and discovery through requirements definition, design, delivery, testing, and measurement
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders from across the organization, including Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and more
  • Partner with the Sr. Director to build understanding, alignment, and adoption of the Crucial Learning Platform across clients and business stakeholders
  • Align with the SDI Technical Product Owner to ensure congruity across platform
  • Gather, validate, and document voice-of-customer needs and suggestions, both internal and external, and transform them into succinct and actionable requirements
  • Run sprint planning meetings and backlog refinement meetings; attend other AGILE ceremonies as required, including product releases (1-2 hrs. evening every 3-week sprint)
  • Writes clear user stories with superior acceptance criteria
  • Creates product release notes
  • Keep detailed release documentation that keeps the whole organization informed and aligned
  • Bring an eye for brand-aligned, modern user experiences, and stay comfortable with the challenges of bringing a new product to market both internally and externally
  • Keep current on learning industry, technology, business, and customer trends
  • Be an enthusiastic adopter and innovator of AI, actively exploring and applying emerging AI tools and capabilities to strengthen product development, streamline workflows, and enhance the learning experience

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS), Masters preferred
  • 2-5 years of Agile experience in Digital Product Ownership. (FIRM requirement)
  • Proven track record delivering projects alongside engineering, QA, and business partners
  • Experience crafting and prioritizing a product backlog that is clear, concise, outcome-focused, and technically sound
  • Working understanding of APIs, integrations, SaaS technology, and WCAG2.2AA requirements with the ability to understand, translate, and create clear technical requirements that engineering teams can act on
  • Able to work effectively in a fully remote environment, staying self-directed, communicative, and connected across a distributed team. Must have a separate, dedicated work space.
  • Detail oriented and well organized, with sound judgment and the ability to respond quickly and pivot as customer and business needs change
  • Able to balance near-term operational needs against the longer-term product vision
  • Able to quickly adjust backlog and feature priorities as business needs change
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and other product tools
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Preferred: Experience in the learning and development field (call this out in cover letter)
  • Preferred: Experience driving wireframe design concepts.
  • Preferred: Experience in learning technology solution development (LMS, LXP, LRS, SCORM, xAPI, etc.)
  • Preferred: Ability to apply quantitative data analysis to sprints and backlog to make projections, proposals, and assess consequences and impacts.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 annually, with a target total cash compensation opportunity of $110,000 - $121,000 through participation in the Company's variable incentive plan. Actual base salary and total cash compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, location, and achievement under the Company's variable incentive plan.
